I hate it! I never thought I would care one way or the other, I am fairly active and dont let things slow me down. I even thought, as I started through menopause, that it isnt so bad, the night sweats, the hot flashes, not horrible. I can do this... right??
OK I WANT IT TO BE OVER!!!! Over the last 3 months my symptoms have peaked, I am pretty sure. It cant get worse, or can it? Now I am having these blasted palpitations that are just driving me insane.
I even put myself on the cardiac monitor last month to make sure they are nothing serious. they arent, just annoying. Heart skips a beat and it can last from 10 minutes to 4 hours or more, there is no rhyme or reason to this and my inner nurse wants there to be a rhyme and reason. But there is none.. It is hormone related and I want those damn hormones GONE!
OK Mr Men-o-pause (has anyone ever noticed that the word starts with "men") I can deal with the hot flashes, the mood swings (better living through chemicals) the water weight gain, the metabolism slowing down to the speed of dead, but once you screw around with my heart beat, then thats enough!!
How is my bodybugg supposed to record my heart rate???? :-)
Have a great day everyone...

I read once where all of our problems begin with MEN......Menopause, Mental illness, Menstruation......I could probably come up with more.....lol. I have an appointment this friday to ahve my hormaones checked too. I am having the EXACT same issues....and I am just 42!! Am losing hair by the fist fulls, am constantly tired, hot flashes....to the point where I am actually dripping in sweat....ewwwww. Night sweats, major fluid retention, the heart skips thing......ughhhh!!!
Tonjia, I was thrust head long into menopause at age 31 when I had a total hysterectomy. I tried hormones for a few months, hated them as bad as the symptoms, so quit. It took me about 20 years to get over the sweats at night, the mood swings and the heart beat thing. I still have a dead metabolism, still have thin hair, and still have fluid retention.
I hope you aren't looking at twenty years......No fun!
So not looking forward to this...
you're talking my language now! I felt the same way about hot flashes and night sweats and then I started with the heart palps. I finally decided to take a beta blocker since I was so super sensitive to the off beat. Of course that presents a whole new set of problems. Hope you find some relief soon...let me know if you do!
