Happy Halloween!

I hope you all are having a great Halloween. I have to work tonight, no one knows what will cross our threshold on Halloween night. We may have to serve our candy out of an emesis basin. LOL

Sometimes we get the children of our employees in to trick or treat, I am leaving the buying of the treats to someone else, I bought them last year.

Todays post will be short and sweet, not much time to post. Everyone watch out for ghouls and goblins tonight!! Make your kids and grandkids carry a flashlight!
Woooooooo......... (that is a ghost sound) :-)

More Random Thoughts..

Dana and I went to vote today! Talk about awesome! Colorado has touch screen voting booths and it is a really fun experience. I was thrilled to death to vote for my candidate for President, and I tried to make myself educated on the local amendments so I knew what I was going to vote on them also. The line was almost non existant, there were approximately 15 voting booths and they were all full all of the time.

This is such a different experience from what we are used to. PA does not have early voting (I am not surprised) and the area where we lived did not have anything remotely close to electronic touch screen voting, we still colored in boxes with a freaking pencil.

Ahhh we have arrived in civilization!

We are not really ready for Halloween, tomorrow I guess we are going to pick up some candy. This causes me great stress because I am on Weight Watchers and chocolate is a trigger food for me. I have to work tomorrow night, Friday night and Saturday night so I am hoping that the chocolate is all out of the house by the time I rejoin reality on Sunday afternoon. You may be asking yourself, so why not just avoid buying chocolate? I am of the opinion that Halloween is NOTHING without chocolate! Giving pencils and toothbrushes just does not fly with me. I want to be the house that gives out the large Hershey bars, but we will probably go with the smaller version.

Today I made some "Halloween Cocaine" this stuff is so addicting, I am sitting here looking at it in the candy jar and thinking if I eat some, and nobody sees me does it really count? The recipe is easy, just mix equal parts of the following in a bowl: If you just use the nuts and candy corn, it will taste like a payday candy bar!

salted peanuts

candy corn

M&M's * optional*

No news yet on the work situation, I hope to find something out tomorrow, when I go back to work. Have a great night!

A Feel Good Tuesday

I believe that there is something about having a pet that makes ones soul complete. Many things in my life make me happy, but one of the special things is my little black wiener, Frankie.

One year ago this week, we picked up our little guy, all 3# and 4 oz of him, and welcomed him into our family. He brings us all such joy.

I hope that you all have known the happiness that a pet can bring into your life. We wouldnt be without one..
This pic is for Hallie, she will know why. ;-)

I hope these Doxie pics make you smile. Have a great night everyone.

Do You Have a Secret??

I was watching a TV show on CNN Healine News last night and they were spotlighting a website online called PostSecret . Basically, this is a website where people post their secrets that they have that have never been told to anyone. This is done by filling out a postcard and sending to the webminister and if he truly thinks that the confession is a real one, then he will post the card and secret on the website.

This got me thinking about secrets. I know everyone has a secret. At least one, something that they have never told or been too embarrassed to tell. Maybe something that really needs to come out?

Here is mine, actually I am keeping one for someone else. About 6 or 7 years ago, I had a coworker whose husband was a drug user and incredibly abusive. They had 2 small children and she confided in me that she was fearful of him and afraid that he would injure the children. She finally came to the end of her rope. So she decided to take some of his drugs (most of them were prescription drugs obtained on the streets) and lace his drink with them. And she did. And that night a friend of her husbands came over to the house to "party" and drank the drink meant for the husband!!!!

This friend then left and drove 20 miles and ran off of the road, and wrecked his car! His tox screen came up abnormal, but he used these same drugs anyway, so no one else knew. Except me.

I didnt know about the accident until much later because he was in a different county so there was nothing I could do about it. And the girl and her abusive husband divorced later on, when he was in prison for several parole violations in another state.

I dont need to know your secrets, just curious to see if you all have one that you have never told??

Sometimes this is me.....

and sometimes I have a lot to say, tonight is not one of those times. I am physically exhausted from 3 hard nights at work, it feels kind of like a hangover and sleep deprivation all at the same time. With the chance of changing shifts I ask myself why I am doing this to myself? LOL

I will blog more tomorrow, right now I am collapsed in my chair with an ice cold diet pepsi, and a wiener on my lap......

Calgon take me away!

We are overrun with drama at work. I HATE workplace drama!! "She said, she did, he wont......" etc etc.

And I have the pleasure of working for a micromanager. When one is dealing with type A personality nurses, micromanagement just doesnt work. This just compounds the frustration and anger of my coworkers, and me.

So the friction in the dept is high, nit picking with each other is high, I just want to scream!!!!

I may have some changes coming up in the future, my doctor has recommended that I get off of night shift if I can, (and I would love to) so I am attempting to maneuver my way onto day shift. The plus side would be that I can get my diabetes under control, and it will definately help with my Weight Watchers, and overall health. The down side.... a $5.50/hr cut in pay. hmmm what to do, what to do? Sometimes feeling good is better than having extra cash, right?

Someone please tell me I am right!

I will keep you all updated on what happens, maybe this will be a good thing....

Welcome home 45th Infantry Brigade of the OK National Guard!

Sunday, October 19, 2008 marked the day when the 208 members of the 45th Infantry Brigade of the Oklahoma National Guard returned HOME from Iraq. They have been deployed for one year. Amazing. These soldiers were gone from their loved ones for an entire year, fighting for our freedom, while life at home moved on. Babies were born, loved ones passed on, holidays came and went. And they continued to fight. And not once did they falter. Because, they are soldiers....

This is patriotism. It is dedication to a cause, it is taking on the responsibility of accepting a job and seeing it through. THIS is what our focus should be on today, not politics, not who can sling the most mud at whom, not who associated with who at age 8. I feel like we have lost focus people. Lets remember all of our soldiers, our sons, daughters, husbands, and wives, who are still in Iraq and Afghanistan, who have endured massive heat, blinding sandstorms, and the virtual unknown, the nighttime attacks, the IED's, suicide bombs, etc.

Please bow your head today and say a prayer to your God that this war can come to an end soon, and bring these brave men and women home....

What IF Firefighters Ran the Country?

Maybe we wouldnt have to worry about all of the mud-slinging and bickering? Its a thought....

Whats your mountain?

cartoon from www.weblogcartoons.com

Cartoon by Dave Walker. Find more cartoons you can freely re-use on your blog at We Blog Cartoons.

My mountain is weight loss, I have been on a diet nearly half of my life (if not more). I almost won the battle in 2004-2005, when I joined Weight Watchers for the 100th time, but this time it clicked. I lost 85lbs. I was down to 30lbs from my goal weight at the time and just got tired of dieting.

Guess what happened? I gained 30lbs back. So here I go again, back to good old Weight Watchers, back to the meetings, counting the points and trying to stay in the mindset that I am what I eat. So far, 4lbs down. This is my 3rd week.

Donned in my hiking boots, and armed with climbing rope, and climbing essentials, here I go again.. Wish me luck.

Is it the Nature of the Beast?

I am really into people watching. I have been a people watcher for a while, and I swear, the more I watch the weirder the people get! LOL

So today, we are at Sams Club to buy some meat. A no brainer, right? Even though we are risking life and limb by even going into a Sams club on a Saturday, Dana and I took the challenge and risked it.

I am standing there while Dana is looking at something in the meat case and I realize that there is a long line wrapping around the end of an aisle. OK I have to go see. Its in my nature, curiosity kills the cat and all of that jazz. Guess what the line is for? You guessed it! FOOD!

These people are all lined up with their carts and kids hanging off of the carts and kids crying and kids fighting etc. to get 2 pc of shrimp on a little plate! WTF??? 2 scrawny little pieces of shrimp? Is our economy that bad? It looked like a bread line in Russia or something. Talk about pathetic.....

I think they were working their way down the line from the back of the store. The sample tables for juice, jerky, crackers and the fruit salad were all closed and empty. The hoardes must have cleaned them out!

I have this aversion to eating food left out in public for others to touch with their grimy, status post nose picking fingers so I usually dont partake in the samples unless the person dishes it up and hands it to me directly, so I didnt have any intention of standing in the line, but other people were really disappointed.

We have reached a sad state of affairs, America a sad state of affairs....

We all need a break now and then.

And a smile. Thank you Anheuser Busch for giving us the best commercials on TV. This one came to me in an email from my sister yesterday, but when I researched it, I found out it was a commercial for the Superbowl in 2006. Enjoy, and smile...and dont forget to turn the volume off on my playlist . And one more thing, welcome readers of WwoW!! I hope you enjoy your trip to my blogging world.

Someone has to say it!!!

OK call me unamerican if you want, but I am really fed up here. I am sitting here on Wednesday evening watching the last (thank goodness) presidential candidate debate and they are talking economy. Senator McCain is proposing (and these are very loose translations) that the government "take over" the mortgages for all of these people who obtained mortgages on homes with variable rates, and who are now in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure. Senator Obama proposes a 90 day moratorium (again, loosely translated) to allow these people to catch up on their late payments or find another means of financing mortgages that are too expensive for them to afford.

Now, I am sorry that these individuals were given these loans, (although no one made them take the loans) and its sad that they are losing their homes.......

BUT!!! What are these 2 candidates going to do for ME? What about those of us who purchased homes that we can afford, with payments that are in our budget and those of us who make our house payments on time every month??? WHAT are they going to do for US??

I propose that each taxpaying individual be given either $5,000 or $10,000 in cash to do what we want to with. If your house payments are behind, use this money to catch up. If you need to get out from under a bad mortgage, use this money as a down payment to refinance and change it. If you are behind in credit cards, use it to pay them down or pay them off. It doesnt take someone with 8 yrs of college or a Juris Doctorate to realize that this plan would be much better for ALL American citizens, not just a choice few.

Ok guys, step back and look at the whole picture. Lets make this work for everyone..... Can someone please hold this soapbox, while I step off? LOL

Just when I had a bloggers block....

Lisa at My New Thing To Do bestowed an award on me!! Thank you Lisa!!

It is called a Perfect Blend of Friendship Award and has some questions attached to it. So, here we go!!

1. Do you have the same friends since childhood? Sadly, no. I had one great friend as a child that I really spent a lot of time with. I lost touch with her when she moved to the Aspen area when we were in high school. (most of my school friends have moved away) The weird thing is, she and I both ended up RN's and she works at the other hospital in town. Now that I have moved back to the area maybe we can meet up some day.

2. What do you value most about your friends? Honesty. I was burned really bad last year by a person whom I thought was my friend. We had known each other for 8 years worked together, had lots of laughs and good times and shared some personal stuff with each other. She ended up stealing my code to our medication dispensing machine at work and stealing narcotics, using my code. I could have lost my license, and my job. I guess her drug habit was more important than our friendship.

3. Are your friends your sounding boards? yes absolutely. I have a good friend who lives in Chicago that I vent to, (via the internet) and a good friend here at home that is a coworker, we vent to each other about work all of the time. LOL And of course Dana and my sister are my closest friends, and I use them to spout off too on a regular basis!

4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends? we chat. Usually online but I do talk to my sister most every day, so I guess my favorite activity would be talking.

And now according to the rules of this award, I have to list 5 things under the following headers, and pass this award on to 5 more people. Here we go!

10 years ago:
I was getting a divorce
I was working in a small ER, and loved every minute of it
I weighed 85 lbs more than I do now
I was training to be a SANE
I had just met Dana

5 things on todays "To do" list:

take a shower and get dressed
eat breakfast
buy an Itunes card
go to the bank
clean the laundry room

5 snacks that I enjoy:

ice cream!
cheetohs
crackers and cheese
Reeses peanut butter cups
snickers miniatures

5 things I would do if I were a millionaire:

quit work
travel. I have always wanted to go to Hawaii
build a doggie day care
buy a horse
build a new home with stables and room for rescue bassets and doxies

5 places I have lived:

Palisade, CO
Nowata, OK
Ontario, CA
Edna, KS
Chambersburg, PA

5 jobs that I have had:

Cook at Long John Silvers
Clerk at a lumber yard/home center
Insurance biller and coder for doctors office
Medical Office Manager
Registered Nurse

Tag 5 people to pass the award on to:

Kim at Lifeafter
Laura at Silence is Broken
Vegas Princess at Life, Vegas Style
Airman Mom at Airman Mom
Linda at The Frog Ho Diaries

OK ladies, y'all have been tagged!! ;-)

Brrrrr....

As natives around here when we say, "the frost is on the pumpkin". We know that we are talking about early onset cold weather, and watch out for your vegetables! They are gonna freeeze.

It did..... 25 degrees this morning at approx 8:00am! You can accumulate a fair bit of frost in temps like these. Yesterday it was 29. Cold weather has descended on the high desert/mountain region of Western Colorado and there is nothing we can do about it. The skies are, as usual, clear and blue without significant clouds present.

OMG I LOVE this weather!

Our hounds on the other hand, are not so appreciative of this beautiful weather. Max is trying to find any sunny spot in which to lay and Frankie is begging for his sweaters. They will adjust.

And I have to unpack my winter clothes! YAAAY!

I work tonight so I dont know when I will have a post tomorrow, I havent worked a Monday night in over a year, this is so weird to me! I may not know what day it is come tomorrow, wish me luck!

Happy Birthday Dana!

To my best friend, the love of my life. Happy 46th birthday!!

You changed my world when you came into my life, without you I would not have been able to make it. You keep me going, You are my reason for being....
You give so unselfishly of yourself to others, in everything that you do. I love your sense of humor, your gentleness and your incredible mind.
May your special day be filled with happiness, sunshine, love and wet slurpy basset and doxie kisses.

I love you.

Christmas in October?

OK our stores are already decorating for Christmas and starting to stock items to sell for Christmas. WHAT is going on? It isnt even Halloween yet! Our temperatures are still in the low 80's and high 70's. This is Colorado for crying out loud! Winter has NOT arrived.

Is it this way every where? I remember when we lived in PA they would start selling artificial Christmas trees in October and then in January they would get out the swim suits.

This is wrong, very wrong.

Lets enjoy Halloween first and then maybe Thanksgiving before we hop right into Christmas. Who is with me?

How many of you guys out there are avid Black Friday shoppers??? I cant even drag myself to do that!

Hey at least I am not saying Bah Humbug yet! LOLOL

see ya tomorrow

Another day another dollar...

another drunk, another transient. LOL I am in the middle of my workweek, the nights are getting colder here which means the transients are all on the lookout for a warm place to sleep.

This means the ER fills up quickly with those who have varied vague complaints that are impossible to nail down immediately, and that gives them several hourse of interrupted sleep before we discharge them back into the night. Sometimes they even talk us out of food....

Ahhh the home of the brave and the land of the FREE.

Bitter? naw.. cynical? maybe a bit. Irritated, absolutely!! Thanks for letting me vent. :-)

New toys for Christmas!

I dont know whether to laugh or to be shocked. Here she is... the newest baby on the block- "Little Mommy Gotta Go Doll!" this doll eats, drinks and POOPS IN THE TOILET!!! Then she helps "mommy" flush it down. This is disturbing to me.

Do our children not have imaginations any more? Is it really necessary to have simulated poop in the toilet?? OMG

Next on santas list is the "Ultimate Spa and Perfume Kit". With this kit our girls can and I am quoting direct from the website here:

The Ultimate Spa and Perfume Kit includes everything you need for a complete spa experience, and has more for you to make than any other product available. Using natural ingredients, you create bath oils, oatmeal soap, foaming baths, bath balms, and more. Learn about aromatherapy as you blend five different kinds of perfume. For use by up to 8 kids and perfect for spa parties, sleepovers, and rainy days, the Ultimate Spa and Perfume Kit is the ultimate gift Ages 8 and up.

I can see it now, households all over the world being inundated with putrid smelling skank on Christmas morning. What ever happened to normal toys like Barbie??

4 more weeks....

We are nearing the end. Only 4 more weeks of mud slinging, mimicking, overbearing commercials for the presidential campaign.

I wish they would stop. I have heard more slam commercials than I want to hear. The way I see it, if americans who are registered to vote do not have their candidate chosen by now, these ridiculous commercials will not really have an effect on who they choose.

This is getting old really fast.

Do you all feel the same way? I think most Americans are almost to the end of their rope...

Bob the talking dachshund

Meet Bob, the talking dachshund. He talks just like Frankie. All this time, I wasnt sure if Frankie was gifted as a talker or if it is just another doxie trait. I think Bob has answered my questions. Of course, Frankie does not know french, just english...

Many times during the day, Frankie will sit on my foot stool or on the futon and look at me with that inquisitive look on his face and he will bark. And look at me, and bark again, like he is trying to tell me something special. He usually wants me to feed him, but once or twice he has told me that his brother Max has either escaped the yard or has crawled under the house next door. Frankie is just like Lassie!

For those of you who have doxies, do your dogs do the same thing?

Now without further adieu.... BOB

A Letter From God

Boy, did I need this today. This came to me from an old friend whom I used to work with. How did she know????

To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: GOD
Subject YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE

This is God. Today I will be handling All of your problems for you. I do Not need your help. So, have a nice day. I love you.

P.S. And, remember... If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do Not attempt to resolve it yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. I will get to it in MY TIME. All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.

Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work; think of the man who has been out of work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; remember, things could be worse.. You could be one of them!

Should you decide to send this to a friend; Thank you. You may have touched their life in ways you will never know! Now, you have a nice day...God

I would like to pass this letter on to each and every one of you.

Shall we bury our money in the back yard?

I am thinking this financial crisis that we have brewing in the US is getting to be a little serious. We found out this week that many student loans are being frozen and students who got their paperwork done later than others are not getting their loans!!

Thank goodness we got Breanna's loan application and FAFSA stuff done on time, this could have had a direct impact on whether she would have been able to continue on in school.

So, what are we supposed to do? Banks are not loaning money on cars, mortgage companies are foreclosing on people who cannot make their mortgage payment, credit card companies are bordering on hysterical when it comes to collecting money owed to them, this is getting ugly, very ugly.

Dana and I are blessed that we are both in healthcare right now, even though I complain about it more than I should, at least we have job security. People continue to get sick and they tell us that Medicare is solvent, (this is yet to be seen) so the hospitals are being paid, so far....

One of my coworkers has now drawn out 2 months worth of money, and put in her wall safe. Her friend with a Masters degree in finance has advised her to do this. OMG are we going to resort to burying money in old coffee cans in our back yards???

I am afraid it is going to get worse before it gets better, EEK!

Something I Just Realized..

We are still an Air Force family. I thought things would change with time. It hasnt. Is that the way it works?

Once you have realized that this decision is what makes your offspring happy as you hear her talk about her future serving our country, Once you have seen her jump through the hoops, once you have lived through the pain and sadness of seeing your only child depart on a bus to BMT, and leaving home for the first time? Once you have watched the mailbox for some signs of communication from Lackland? (whether it is a letter or just an envelope in her handwriting with graduation instructions inside). Once you have felt your heart and your stomach drop when you are told that she is injured, Once you have seen her strong will work to defy all of the obstacles that are created trying to make her come home, Once you get the word that she has been discharged??

I am no longer mad at the USAF.

Its ok God, I understand, the enlistment path wasnt in your plan for her. You would rather have her go in as an officer. I get it.

Breannas RE code is due to expire in 4 months. This should open the door for her to re-enter the USAF down the road. Her plan is to get her bachelors degree, and then commission back into the Air Force. The recruiter here is advising her to do this, she is still a model soldier. And in my heart of hearts I know she will be a model officer.

I have run the stages of grief, she has run the stages of grief and even though we have accepted what happened, we still have Air Force Blue blood running in our veins, we are STILL an Air Force family.

As many of the AF moms on our online support group used to say "once and Air Force mom, always an Air Force mom". I guess that is true.

Please pray for us.

Random Thoughts

This just happens to be one of those days when random thoughts are fighting to get out of my head. So here goes...

For starters, House Peters Jr, who posed as the original "Mr Clean", passed away yesterday in Los Angeles, he was 92. This is a piece of trivia to store in your head for future use.. Rest in Peace Mr Peters.

Now on to the car buying story. Breanna met us at the dealer on Tuesday and test drove the Kia, she was not comfortable driving it because it was pretty small and kind of light weight. So, we went back to the lot and found a car that she liked, she test drove it and liked it so thats what she bought. It is a hunter green metallic 1996 Lexus CE 300. A beautiful car, in her price range, with more miles than the Kia but it felt much more solid and had more power. It is equipped with leather upholstery, sun roof, 8 cd changer and many other extras so she is happy.

I will try to get a picture of it next week when I get a day off. The great thing is, she has a car that she likes, I have my Escape back and we are all able to be at work at the same time without shuttling cars. woo hoo!

Breanna is doing well in college, she loves most of her classes and the one class that she thought was going to be one of the easiest is actually one of the hardest. Music appreciation is providing to be a challenge. I think its a challenge to stay awake, and to stay interested and to stay focused on such an interesting (?) topic! She is attending a liberal arts college and everyone has to take an "appreciation" class for graduation. This is the one she ended up in.

Tonight I have to go back to work, (my week is usually ruined at this point. LOL) so I will miss the Vice Presidential debate. HAVE NO FEAR! I have TIVO!!!!! WOOT! I love our Tivo, it has made my life so much simpler and I dont have to miss my favorite shows (Army Wives, Biggest Loser, Bones, Californication, and Weeds) and I also get to watch the political debates. I wont go into detail about who I am watching during this debate but she can see Russia from her house!LOLOLOL I seriously doubt that this debate will provide any fireworks or humor, at least if the scriptwriters have done their job!

We thought we had fall here in Colorado a few weeks ago, but its back in the high 80's again with promises of cooler weather on the horizon, ok its October, can we turn the AC off soon? And as I am writing this, the weather guy just came on to announce measurable snowfall in the high country! So maybe we are headed for fall after all!

What I have learned....

I saw this on a poster and again on a blog by Ahmad Anvari, I really like it.

I've learned.... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I've learned.... That when you're in love, it shows.

I've learned.. That just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day.

I've learned.... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.

I've learned.... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've learned.... That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.

I've learned.... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've learned.... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned.... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned.... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

I've learned.... That money doesn't buy class.

I've learned.... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I've learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned.... That the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?

I've learned.... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned.... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I've learned.... That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I've learned.... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile. I've learned.... That there's nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling their breath on your cheeks.

I've learned.... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've learned.... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned.... That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned.... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned.... That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed away.

I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned.... That I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.

I've learned.... That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've learned.... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned ... That it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life-threatening situation.

I've learned.... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

awesome things to think about, huh?
