SO! Should he have apologized???

Poor TIger Woods, what a mess he has himself and his family in. I sat there like a bozo watching his public apology today and tried to figure out if the script was so he would be politically

correct and cover all of his bases or if it was because he is not comfortable exposing his

"transgressions" in public.

I still dont know. But it doesnt matter now because something more pressing is in my head. SHOULD he have apologized publicly? Is it really the business of John Q Public what anyone does behind closed doors?

I dont think it is, I think even though one is a celebrity, they still deserve respect, and privacy that each and every one of us require in our lives. Sitting there listening to him speak kind of made me feel like I was invading whatever privacy he has left.

I dont mean that I condone whatever affairs he did have, but since I dont walk in his shoes, or in his wife's shoes, I really dont feel that I can judge. I will admit, it does sound like he was living life in the fast lane, and I am kind of impressed that he can juggle that many women without one of them finding out about the others..

SO... my question to you... should he have apologized publicly (in your opinion?)

Random thoughts...

Some of my random thoughts have been fighting to get out. So, here they are:

* I LOVE the winter Olympics! As a young girl growing up in western Colorado, I spent many

hundreds of hours on the slopes perfecting my skiing style. I dreamed of one day being a member of the US Olympic team. I wasnt nearly good enough, but I dreamed, nonetheless.

Back then to qualify for Team USA you had to have money, lots of money, and endorsements and lots and lots of connections. None of which I had. So I was satisfied rubbing elbows with the famous when they came to race in Aspen. I spent countless hours watching those Europeans wearing expensive ski outfits and having their every whim attended to. I saw some amazing skiers. And then I would go to Snowmass and apply their skills on the NASTAR course. It was fun, I made memories and its something I have always been proud of. I ran some good races too!

So, I digress, Go Team USA!

* The drama at my job is getting just a little out of control. I am not the manager, I am not the oldest person in the department, I am the one with the most ER experience though, so I am the one people usually come to when there are problems. I am about to tell my coworkers that enough is enough! Its time to gather round the wagons and become a unified department and not a group of type A babies who are always bickering with each other!!!

* Dana and I took a fun trip to Montrose, CO today. It is about 70 mi away and at the base of the San Juan Mountains. I bought a gorgeous ring that is being made just for me! I can hardly wait to get it. The store is only found in Ouray, CO and Montrose CO. the name is Ouray Silversmiths. Check out their website at www.ouraysilversmiths.com they do beautiful work!

*Colorado is ready for spring. Even the locals are now complaining. I keep telling everyone I

am SURE it is right around the corner! They all think I am lying.......

Why is it so easy for some people to deceive others? Is it self gratification from knowing that they know something that someone else doesnt? Is it a power game, where they get a rush out of lying/deceiving innocent and gullible people, just to make themselves look superior, or is it just their narcissistic urge to bring forth something that allows them to be the only ones who can control the outcome?

Does the internet make these people surface quicker than before we had the internet? Or does it just make it easier for them to lie, and deceive and not get caught as easily.

My suggestion for whoever may see themselves in this post...... Please, just be yourself, dont depict yourself as something you arent, you may think you are pretty ingenious with your plan, but you arent. Most intelligent people can see through you like a pane of glass.......

Ok, now that I have that off of my chest here is some GOOD news from the work front!

Starting this week I am going to be working as a very part time assistant to the trauma coordinator at work. Actually our interim manager (the former trauma coordinator) has been doing both jobs, and it is getting to be too much for her. When she agreed to be interim manager, she did so under one condition, that I could help with the trauma stuff.

Finally, now I get the chance. Due to some changes in our computer implementation team schedule, I have 3 days coming up where I am not working in the ER, so I get to do trauma coordinator stuff! From now on I will be working 12 hours per week doing the trauma stuff and 24 hours per week doing patient care. Hopefully this will work itself back into at least a part time position! I am keeping fingers crossed!

Who Ordered This Drama????

I could preface this post by saying that in my profession and specialty, stress is a way of life and people do have the right to deal with stress in their own way but I wont. I think its all ridiculous and here is why:

You all know I work in an Emergency Room, we have had a multitude of clinical managers over the 3 yrs that I have been there, I dont know why it is so difficult to manage this little ER. I have certainly worked in much bigger and much busier and much more stressful ER's without the turnover in managers, so I dont have a clue why our current dept is so chaotic. We currently have a very kind, intelligent, devoted interim manager who is working as hard as she can to keep our heads above water in this horrible state of economic decline and trying to keep from laying people off in our ER.

We just cannot get past the chaos. We have 2 nurses who absolutely HATE each other. Ordinarily this wouldnt create such havoc except both of these people are outspoken, intelligent and do not mind letting everyone know what their opinions are. (if you get my drift) I am good friends with one of these people (nurse #2) and not so good friends with the other (nurse #1) (she annoys me, but I can work with her)

So, these 2 have the entire department in an uproar! We had a meeting last night with our dept charge nurses. One of the two is a charge nurse. (I will call her Nurse #1) Needless to say Nurse #1 involved the entire group of charge nurses in her battle with Nurse #2. I tried to stay middle of the road. there were accusations of compromise of patient care because Nurse #2 didnt cover Nurse #1 and take care of her patients while she was not available (supposedly she was triaging another patient) and, no matter how much I fought it, I got sucked in.

I made the comment that no matter who is involved, compromising patient care is not acceptable. This is exactly what Nurse #1 wanted me to say. I was duped. Now it sounds like I am speaking out against Nurse #2 behind her back. I am sure it will come back to bite me in the ass....

I HATE it when manipulative people do this!!!!

These people are supposed to be adults, they are supposed to be professionals who come to work, do their job and work to save peoples lives, leave the freaking drama at home!

I never have these problems when I work with the guys. I want to work with the guys from now on, I am sick to death of the females and their backbiting, snipping attitudes!!!

I have fallen in love...

With South Florida! As I look out the window at the 2 month old snow still on the ground, and see the frost on the windshield every morning and feel that 13 degree crisp Colorado air, I remember how awesome it was in Ft Lauderdale when we docked on the way home.

I want to go back to South Florida! LOL

My new resolution is to travel more often, Dana and I have a timeshare that we have not used since 2006. 4 years down the crapper. I am resolving that 2010 is the year that we start using our timeshare again. I am hoping to have a few days off to hook up with RCI and see if we

can find some time this year between May and October to visit South Florida again.

Any suggestions on the perfect area to visit???

Helloooo Jenny!!

OK I did it. I joined Jenny Craig today. It has been my plan since before Christmas, I was on Nutrisystem for 4 months and, in spite of the fact that I lost almost 30 lbs I needed something else. Some accountability, some human contact, and some freaking better food!

Nutrisystem was ok for a while, but it really is not the best tasting food I have ever eaten. And the selections were very pasta intensive, and there were hidden vegetables everywhere! I dont mind hidden vegetables, I mean, Lord knows I dont like vegetables and unless it is salad, or sliced tomatoes on sandwiches or vegetable soup I am really not a vegetable aficionado. But I have to tell you, I do NOT want to find beans and corn in my lasagna! That was the straw that broke the camels back....

I found beans and corn in my "meat" lasagna. barf-a-rama!

So, off I went to see Jenny. I kept off about 18 of my 26 lbs and considering what has been going on in my life in the last 2 months, thats really not too bad. I am now ready to take the Jenny train... I have 56lbs to get rid of!! Wish me luck!
