For the last 9 months I have belonged to an online group of Air Force moms and dads. These are the coolest people on earth! The board is fun and there are lots of good news and prayers and hugs. Most of them are just wonderful people.
Tonight I unsubscribed from the group. You see, I took the initiative and commented about the USAF's way of handling recruitement and retention. I was ATTACKED by a TI (or former TI) who started throwing statistics at me and trivializing Breannas experience while in BMT. He accused her (in a roundabout way) of wanting to fail, of not being physically or emotionally prepared for BMT and of various other ridiculous things. He threw around statistics that I read on http://www.airforce.com/ 2 years ago, and those statistics made me feel fairly comfortable with Breanna joining. Those statistics lied. Various members of the board started applauding his response and saying "thank you, its time we actually heard from someone who is there..."
Anyway, I think I exploded. I am not sure. My fingers flew across the keyboard typing a reply and then a goodbye message and then I unsubscribed.
A big hole is in my heart right now because some of these people really became good friends of mine. SO....
Kim, Deb E, Michelle, Hallie, Debbie, Lolly, Corinne, Judy, Susan and Lea, Please stay in touch. I will miss you all, but theres always the blogging world right???
hugs.
PS. This is the last connection that we have with the Air Force. Breanna packed up her USAF clothes and decorations to put in storage. She did this all on her own. I think we have closure..

Tonjia,
I'm sorry...hiding in corner...I laughed LOUD when I saw the pic on this post, but I knew to look for this this morning. You didn't disappoint me! I may copy that picture for future use..as I feel that way more often than NOT!! Hell, I may even print and frame it!
Nothing about this is funny and I hope you don't leave the group! But, if you do, I'm still coming to this blog every day!
I believe ALL branches are the same though. It's the good old military way. It's not going to change either. You and Tony reminded me of me and my ex! I used to get so frustrated at the Air Force and he responded ALWAYS just like Tony. We were in same Squadron for 13 years of our marriage!
I did my 20 and thought I was done. GRRRR...all my old resentments are coming back with David going in. Hence..why I want that pic!
Love ya,
Debbie
Tonjia, Please reconsider leaving the group. Your love and support has always been appreciated and you have always given good input to situations. I don't believe that Tony was attacking Bre and he did not individualize his email. It was a group email, not a private only to Bre email. Please do not take it that way.
(((Tonjia)))
I left you a big supportive message on the group today and then realized you probably wouldn't read it.
You CAN'T get rid of me my friend - I am addicted to all things Bre realted which means you too!
You did nothing wrong and "T" shouldn't have made you feel bad for telling it like it is...for you and Bre.
I NEVER felt you were saying that every kid would have the same experience as Bre - I always thought you shared her experience for others to know and learn from.
I admire you and Bre more than you know.
You are STUCK WITH ME!
Hallie :)
