I am amazed at how much gas prices have skyrocketed since January! Our gas prices are now $3.71 per gallon for mid grade and climbing. I heard this morning that gas prices have gone up 15 cents per gallon here in the last 2 weeks. Whats going on??
I am really going to age myself but when I was in college (ca 1976) I worked in a convenience store and we sold gas for 36 cents a gallon! We could drive all over town on a dollar! Boy times have changed.. But as I look around here, in the tourist capitol of western Colorado, I am not seeing too many people conserving. They are still driving their HUGE RV's and gas guzzling cars. I dont know about you guys but there is no way I would drive those 30-40 foot long RV's on vacation, no way!
We did our part, we traded off my Jeep Grand Cherokee that got MAYBE 15pmg in the city for my Escape (which I love) that now gets 20+mpg in the city. Its not much but its something. And... we put $30 worth of REGULAR gas in it today and got 3/4 of a gallon! $30 worth of gas for the Jeep (we had to use mid grade) wouldnt even give me 1/2 of a tank.

Before I forget, we received a copy of the letter sent from our Congressman to the "Congressional Liaison for the USAF, Lackland AFB TX) I didnt even know there WAS a Congressional Liaison for the USAF. In this letter, our Congressman requested Breannas medical records to be sent in their entirety immediately. Thats just a tiny part of the letter, but it was impressive and I am excited to see if they pay attention to it!

Tonjia, Would love it if you could scan it and show tit to us. I have always told people to use them if they are not getting what they think they should. In my job, we get calls from congressional aids all the time inquiring why this agency or that agency did not get a grant. Keep us posted.

I know gas is crazy. Ours is up to $3.86 a gallon. I am thankful to have a good car but its still hard.
I remember when gas was .65, but I am much younger than you are (eg).
I drive a suburban, have to with five kids. I can't wait to downsize someday. I do ride my bike or walk to do errands whenever possible.
