For Breanna...

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of Breannas discharge from the USAF. This is a bitter sweet day in our lives. Many of you were right there with us during the whole roller coaster ride. We endured frustration, dissapointment, encouragement, anger, and you name it, we ran the gamut on emotions.

Someone once said "whatever doesnt kill you makes you stronger". This should be Bre's mantra. She worked hard, she fought, she struggled and endured pain, and when the day finally came for her discharge, she held her head up high and with honor and signed the papers.

Now, one year later, I am proud to look at my daughter and see what an amazing adult she has become.

Today she is excelling in college, she has made tons of new friends, she has a great job and is now recovering from the injury that started all of this in the first place. She is healing. Her mind has healed, her heart is healing and her shoulder is healing. She will soon be ready to walk down the road again, towards her dream, looking to the sky. She will soon be ready to fly.

On this day, 365 days later, I see an officer in the making.

Bre, you did it! You made it through the hardest year. You got yourself into college, made new friends, took care of business by having the surgery and the world is yours just for the taking. I am so proud of how you made lemonade by the lemons that were thrown at you. Believe it or not, this has been an experience that will make you a better Bre...you have been through the roughest and have come out on the other side as a survivor. So proud of you! Go Bre!

I've been here through the whole ordeal and I can say you have one hellaciously strong woman for a daughter. She's been through the wringer and come out starched and pressed. I have no idea where that came from LOL!!

She's one in a million with a wonderful future ahead of her. She will succeed in wherever life takes her :) Please give her a hug from me!

YOU GO, BRE!!! There is no doubt in my mind that you can and WILL have an extremely successful future. Sometimes things turn out for the best, even when we don't see it at the time. I know, I JUST KNOW, that we will be hearing of many great things from you in the years to come.

How do I know this? Because you are your Mom's daughter, and she is the best. You have learned from the best!

Again...YOU GO, BRE!

I think a lot of Bre's success comes from having a mom as wonderful and supportive as you. :)

It will be great to watch what the next 365 days bring to your daughter and her life. And your life for that matter. It has been a long year, but it is a part of the bright future. All in the training, and I do think it has made all of you stronger for it. I am sorry you have had to endure this ordeal. But I am very glad you have come through it with such a great attitude and outlook. An example for many of us!
