I hope this is a special day for you all. I have never really been a great fan of Valentines day. My ex pretty much ruined the day for me early on in our marriage. He would expect a luxurious gift and if I didnt get it for him he would go into a rage and we would end up in a huge fight. It was almost like it was planned.
Anyway, I am not a great fan of the holiday, although I do enjoy having a nice dinner with Dana and just spending time alone. I have to work this year, so that kind of spoils any plans that we may have had, so we went out to dinner last night. It was great and fun and we kind of beat the V-day rush.
Speaking of the V-day rush, yesterday I went to buy Dana a card and here was the card aisle at Walmart PACKED with men, all looking at the cards like they are written in a foreign language. As I watched them, the majority just pulled a card out and got the heck out of there. Their wives/girlfriends are going to think they spent lots of loving time picking out just the right card..... NOT! LOLOLOL
So, today is another work day for me, and since I am typing this to post on the 14th, I dont have a clue what kind of day it is going to be. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

tonjia...truly what you and dana share is to be celebrated every day! Besides, it is a "Hallmark" holiday...I heard on the news yesterday the average person spends $102 for this holiday. I am so below-average! Hubster and I exchange a card, then continue to show love and respect for each other...kinda like yesterday and hopefully again tomorrow!

Glad you and Dana made it out for dinner. With both girls here and 5 dogs it isn't in the cards(or finances) for Roger and to go out to dinner. Hope it's an easy time at work this weekend.
we rarely do anything, if we do it is a card. never have much played the expected games society puts upon us.
Hope your work day goes well!

Ok, sorry I am a romantic, I like it when he does something really special on that day. I guess I would like it any day. But at least he usually can remember Valentines day if he can't remember our anniversary. I like the cards, I like the candy, and I like the attention. But honestly, we don't do that any more, I just am saying that is what I LIKE!
Hope you have a peaceful quiet nothing big day!
I feel the same way about Valentine's Day but for different reasons. It is the one day I loathe all year simply because nothing good ever happens to me on Valentine's Day. Although my hubby does try.
