One word.... Crazy.
The whole night was freaking nuts! We were bombarded with ambulances all night long, so I spent the majority of my night in the company of EMS crews and Law Enforcement officers. They really saved my sanity.
Something can be said about the relationship ER staff has with EMS and law enforcement. We get each other. We can laugh at the sickest strangest things, because we all share the same clientele. And we are outnumbered. So we have to stick together.
My night shift crew is starting to really take form. We are all experienced, seasoned nurses, we work the same nights now (since I am doing the schedule) and we enjoy each others company. It must be obvious to others because now the EMS crews are now coming just to visit.. LOL They like being around us. Here we are 3 "mature" nurses (at age 50 I am the youngest one on the block) all of us are overweight, but happy, and these young guys want to come and hang around us. LOL Talk about funny!!
One of the medics told me that he loves coming in to see us because he can be himself and he doesnt have to worry about some "badge bunny" nurse trying to press her boobs against his back while he is giving report on the patient. How sad is that???
So, anyway, we are now "moms" to half of the EMS/firefighters in town and part of the police dept!!! Its nice to be loved...
To my "girls" Elaine, Barb and Stephanie, I salute you all! We rock!!!

Yes, ER Nurses Rock!! And they love the Public Safety guys (mine) as well as the cops LOL!
Seriously, Tonjia, what would it be like without you guys...
We salute you for your hard work and dedication!!!
Hey, nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by. I write different police stories, ie life experiences and they are marked with my badge picture. I don't know how to link them all together. I am not that blogger savy yet.
I can remember many of the ER nurses from my days. And yes there is a great bond between the LE community and the medical community. It is funny how we relate to each other and I did find that many officers married nurses (because THE NURSES make the good money, not the police ha ha ha!) or they married teachers. Don't know what to say about that one for there in NO money in teaching!
Let's stay in touch and again, very nice to meet you!
