Skywatch Friday!! The Calm Before The Storm

Here it is Friday again, and I dont feel like Thursday is over yet.

This Fridays picture was taken on the very tip of the beach, Ocean City MD. I took this right before we evacuated the island in September 2003, as Hurricane Isabel was knocking at our door. You would never know that by looking at the bright sunshine reflecting off of the water. Take a look at the waves though, they got pretty ugly as the day went on.

Our Condo is canal front in Ocean City, (on the bay) and, me being from the mountains and Dana from PA, neither of us had any experience with hurricanes. We were ready to ride it out when our property manager politely told me "maam you have to GO! The entire ISLAND IS BEING EVACUATED!!!!" She most certainly had panic in her voice..LOLOL

Alrighty then, we stopped by the OC beach before we left, got some good photo's watched The Weather Channel set up their filming equipment and then we left. Cut our vacation 3 days short. It was a bummer, but not nearly as bad as if we had stayed. LOL
