I drove over 2,000 mi in 5 days, I am exhausted and I would like to go on record as saying that the state of Kansas is no doubt the dullest state in the union to drive through. (I apologize to those of you who live in Kansas, but western Kansas is just ugly)
Due to the unusual number of farmers burning off their fields, and the unhealthy amount of allergens at my parents home in the swamps of Oklahoma, I am having horrible allergy problems and a cough that sounds like I have emphysema.
I am SO thankful for Tulsa. I have always LOVED Tulsa... My middle sister and I escaped on thursday to Woodland Hills mall for some quality air and shopping and then spent an hour or two at Will Rogers downs and the Cherokee casino for some quality gambling. we didnt win anything but had fun.
The funeral was beautiful, my mom would have been happy. Now if we could just get my bull headed father to realize that since he cannot walk out to get the mail or take the trash out, he probably cannot live alone in a 2 story house, things would be set.
I am anticipating another trip to Oklahoma in my near future....... sigh
I will be back tomorrow blog friends! Many thanks to everyone who sent sympathies via email and facebook, you guys are the best.

Glad you are home safe and sound. Glad you got to have some good quality time with your sister as well. I am glad you were able to put your mother to rest in a beautiful way that she would be proud of. Now you will just have to start working on your Dad!!!
Men can be stubborn, but I fear he will not go easily or willing.
Glad you are home safe. I have been thinking about you all week, and praying for you all. Nice to hear you got in a little retail and gambling therapy. I'm sure it helped to spend some time with your sister.
Take care my friend,
Rita

Glad you're back, Tonjia. Continued thoughts and prayers.
Still thinking of you...glad you are home safe and sound.
glad you are home safe... and glad you had some joy along with the sorrow of the loss... Fathers are hard to convince that they need help. HUGS to you and come find me on facebook... Laura Muse Hall :)
I'm happy you're back and that you were pleased with the service. Dealing with a parent who can no longer live alone, or live in their current house, is so very difficult. My thoughts are with you and your dad.
Glad you're back safe! I was so worried about you. Your Dad will come around...eventually.
I hope your sinuses clear up soon after you've been home in the Colorado air :)
Happy you were able to put your Mom at rest in a way she would like ((HUGS))
Tonjia....It's always good to be home, safe and sound. And I'm happy the service for your mom was one that would have made her happy.
Now go with Dana to Las Vegas and have a good time together. You need some special time together. Sorry you can't find the clothes you want. That's how it always goes, isn't it. The stuff is there where you don't want it, but when you need it, it's not there.
God bless.....
So glad you are home safe and sound. I have been thinking of you all week. I am sure your Dad will understand your concern in time after he realizes how difefrent his life will be from now on. He is lucky to have such caring children as you and your siblings.
