I got an email a week or so ago, and it was challenging the recipients to name their favorite TV shows that they watched while growing up. It brought to mind some of the shows that I LOVED watching and couldnt miss.
I think my favorite show when I was in elementary school was "Lost In Space". Not nearly as sophisticated as the space shows on TV today, but it was the most amazing show we had ever seen. Imagine flying around the heavens in a space ship with a robot! And landing on different planets and running into beings that arent human! We all wished we had a robot who would swing his arms around and say "danger! danger! danger! Will Robinson!"...
Just sit back and take a look at the special effects, and the sophisticated costumes that made this show so amazing. Steven Spielberg eat your heart out!

Bewitched, Brady bunch and the fat albert cartoons. and captian Kangaroo are some I remember most ... we lived in the country and did not have cable. we had 3 channels 10, 7 and 3 which was public broadcasting. My dad loved Hee Haw and mom would watch Lawrence Welk.

Oh, Tara, this is so fun! As a kid, I loved TV! Early favorites were American Bandstand, The Naked City, Leave it to Beaver, Father Knows Best, The Donna Reed Show, and The Mickey Mouse Club. I had young teen uncles, thus the American Bandstand :).
A little later, along with Lost In Space, I liked Gidget, The Big Valley, Julia, Gomer Pyle USMC, and all of the music/dance shows--AB, Shindig, Bugaloo, etc.
Later still, Little House on the Prairie, Brady Bunch, Love American Style, Family, and American Bandstand.
Always American Bandstand :).
I forgot Ozzie & Harriet. How could I! Ricky singing at the end of the show? OMG, be still my first-grade heart! :)
I forgot Gidget! How could I forget? Moondoggie was so cute!
I also watched "Lost in Space"-loved their adventures and the robot!
