Is there such a thing???

As "blogging rules"? This just came to thought as I was reading through my blog list trying to stay updated on my blogger friends' lives when I had a few minutes before getting ready to go to work last night.

I have a list of much loved blogs but sometimes the people who own the blogs dont keep them updated. I am still checking them, some have not been updated since June and some not since July. This causes a dilemma. Are their blogs dead? Have they stopped blogging and have no intention to start again? Did they forget they HAD a blog???

I dont want to miss anything(we can officially call this a blogging obsession)and I have hesitated to remove them from my list of favorites because I DONT WANT TO MISS IT IF THEY START TO BLOG AGAIN! what to do, what to do?

What do you guys do?

Someone needs to write a rule book! LOLOLOL

I agree, and I have also found that some blogs with time just don't fit my "taste". So I went yesterday and weeded my blog garden . Some of the blooms had just...wilted and died. Some became stink weed and were not the flowers I thought they would be. So I decided it was time to tend to my garden. The things that bring me joy and add beauty to my garden I kept and the ones that did not add to the beauty of my garden I plucked. I had to trim the blog garden for I really do spend way too much time on the computer. It's ok, we each have to decide what is best for us.

I usually leave them on for 3 months and if no activity, I have to weed them out. This always gives me the excuse to look for more blogs out there. I usually check the blog rolls of my friends because I figure if I like my friends, I will, for the most part, like the blog rolls they follow. I have found a lot of fantastic bloggers that way. I used to be OCD that I had to blog every single day or die. I've learned that I can miss a day or two now and then and the world will go on. To me, blogging just isn't a hobby---it's a way I keep up with dear friends that I have made and hope to meet in RL some day. So far I've met Laura(Peach)
and Catty Ax Lady from Whirlwind Lodge.

what I did because I read so many blogs is went into the customise section on blogger and added blog roll to my blog that way where ever anyone posts it shows up in my side bar thus saving me HOURS of going through 60 to 70 blogs that I like to read.. plus since i started skywatch friday (participating in it) it helps me to keep up better.
anyway I hope this helps and have awonderful sunday!

I figure that if someone hasn't updated in over a month, that they are just not committed to it or else some life issue is preventing them (e.g., illness). I don't post as often as most people do. I aim for 2-3 times a week, provided I have something I want to share. If I am going to not blog for a while, say like when I go on vacation, I'll do a post for my faithful readers to let them know that I am temporarily indisposed.

Ness, like you I find some of the best blogs in lists on other blogs (oh my, did that make any sense at all?)
I must admit, in the beginning I was anything but consistent in my posts. It's different now, since I do check in on other blogs and just don't get it, if they are not updated for long periods of time.
Things that make you go hmmmmm???

I keep all my blogs in Google Reader and then I have a sit down and go through all the old posts I have not read in a month or so. And I catch up. Which is what I am doing today. Which is why I have not commented on your blog in a while because it got to be SO overwhelming as they all piled up. But I feel the saem way you do, reluctant to get rid of someone who has not posted in a while. Keeping them on Google Reader helps because then I only see when someone has posted something new so I am not constantly checking a deadish blog. Did that help? Am I rambling? I have been reading so much today my eyes are like goo.

My blog list changes regularly. I add some, take some out, etc. However, in addition to those listed on my bloglist, I have files in my favorites file so that I still have the blogsite. I check them every few weeks cuz u never know if your tastes will change and youll want them back :)

Um, yes, I think we can officially call this an obsession. And if someone doesn't update for a long time, I remove them, too. However, I add many new ones each week. sigh. Obsessed.

First, put them ALL in Google Reader and you don't have to check on them. They will pop up automatically when a new post is posted. Much easier.

Second. I think they take a mental break LOL! I have stayed away from computer since starting work and I hate that I've been missing so much! I'm trying to do better :)
