Dana and I went to vote today! Talk about awesome! Colorado has touch screen voting booths and it is a really fun experience. I was thrilled to death to vote for my candidate for President, and I tried to make myself educated on the local amendments so I knew what I was going to vote on them also. The line was almost non existant, there were approximately 15 voting booths and they were all full all of the time.
This is such a different experience from what we are used to. PA does not have early voting (I am not surprised) and the area where we lived did not have anything remotely close to electronic touch screen voting, we still colored in boxes with a freaking pencil.
Ahhh we have arrived in civilization!
We are not really ready for Halloween, tomorrow I guess we are going to pick up some candy. This causes me great stress because I am on Weight Watchers and chocolate is a trigger food for me. I have to work tomorrow night, Friday night and Saturday night so I am hoping that the chocolate is all out of the house by the time I rejoin reality on Sunday afternoon. You may be asking yourself, so why not just avoid buying chocolate? I am of the opinion that Halloween is NOTHING without chocolate! Giving pencils and toothbrushes just does not fly with me. I want to be the house that gives out the large Hershey bars, but we will probably go with the smaller version.
Today I made some "Halloween Cocaine" this stuff is so addicting, I am sitting here looking at it in the candy jar and thinking if I eat some, and nobody sees me does it really count? The recipe is easy, just mix equal parts of the following in a bowl: If you just use the nuts and candy corn, it will taste like a payday candy bar!

tonjia... I am so glad I am not one to enjoy CandyCorn at Halloween or CadburyEgg at Easter. Ahhh..Hershey's with Almonds, that is my Halloween weakness!

early voting here too... lines are hour to two hour averages! they are saying on the news bring a folding chair for the wait! 3400 voted today in richnomd county! amazing!
No fair. I am at work now and craving chocolate!! Gram can't help herself. If I tell her there are new pictures, she has to look right away!
I love that recipe, as simple as it is I could not remember it. I was thinking about it just the other day. I bet you could even add mini marshmellows to it and it would be good. I can't wait to vote, and get all this mess over with. And then learn how to deal with the next four years of....
well I will leave that one alone.
mmm i'm making the halloween cocaine also!!!!!! I just don't want to make it too early, or i'll eat it before everyone comes over! lol I'm going to vote on Tuesday, I know we can go early, but i'd rather wait! lol I have to find my new polling place, now that i've moved! lol
